Cisco and NVIDIA Partners to Streamline AI Infrastructure in Data Centers

Cisco and NVIDIA’s integrated solutions are transforming data centers into powerhouses of AI capability.

Cisco and NVIDIA have unveiled a collaborative effort to introduce advanced AI infrastructure solutions designed for easy deployment and management within data centers, catering to the growing demand for extensive computing capabilities essential for thriving in the AI-dominated corporate landscape.

Chuck Robbins, Chair and CEO of Cisco, emphasized the transformative impact of AI on daily work and life, highlighting the necessity for enterprises to revolutionize their infrastructures to accommodate the seismic shift brought about by AI advancements. “Strengthening our great partnership with NVIDIA is going to arm enterprises with the technology and the expertise they need to build, deploy, manage and secure AI solutions at scale,” he remarked. 

Jensen Huang, NVIDIA’s founder and CEO, pointed out the urgency among companies to leverage generative AI for business transformation. “Working closely with Cisco, we’re making it easier than ever for enterprises to obtain the infrastructure they need to benefit from AI, the most powerful technology force of our lifetime,” said Huang. 

A foundation in Ethernet networking and GPU innovation

​​The alliance builds on Cisco’s leadership in Ethernet networking and its robust partner ecosystem, alongside NVIDIA’s pioneering role in GPU development, which has significantly propelled the AI revolution. The partnership is set to enhance customer support in navigating AI transitions with highly secure Ethernet-based infrastructure solutions.

The collaboration has yielded a variety of integrated product solutions, enhancing Webex collaboration devices and data center compute environments. These innovations support hybrid workforces with flexible workspaces, AI-enhanced meetings and virtual desktop infrastructure. The focus now extends deeper into the data center domain, aiming to furnish enterprise customers with scalable and automated AI cluster management, automated troubleshooting and superior customer experiences.

Key offerings from the Cisco and NVIDIA partnership include:

  • NVIDIA’s latest Tensor Core GPUs integrated into Cisco’s M7 generation of UCS rack and blade servers, facilitating optimal performance for a wide range of AI and data-intensive tasks.
  • Availability of NVIDIA AI Enterprise on Cisco’s global price list, providing secure, stable and supported production AI with software frameworks, pre-trained models and development tools.
  • Jointly validated reference architectures through Cisco Validated Designs (CVDs) simplify AI cluster deployment and management across diverse use cases.
  • Enhanced AI infrastructure management via on-premises and cloud-based solutions, including Cisco Nexus Dashboard and Cisco Intersight.
  • Digital Experience Monitoring through ThousandEyes for AI-driven insights and automated problem remediation across cloud and on-premises networks.
  • The Cisco Observability Platform leverages AI to offer real-time telemetry contextualization and correlation for improved digital experiences.
