Targus has launched a new line of eco-friendly products and improved its sustainability rating according to EcoVadis.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Targus, a leading brand in laptop cases and mobile computing accessories, recently announced its continued commitment to sustainability with the introduction of new eco-friendly products. Utilizing its proprietary EcoSmart\u00ae technology, which transforms plastic water bottles into fabric, Targus has expanded its product line. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latest addition includes the EcoSmart Coastline Collection, featuring a backpack and briefcase made from certified ocean-bound plastic. This move builds on Targus\u2019s history of using recycled materials in laptop bags since 2008.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs we continue our journey to become a more sustainable company, we recognize the importance of demonstrating our progress through real and tangible actions,\u201d said Targus’ Andrew Corkill<\/a>, Global Vice President of Marketing and eCommerce. \u201cTargus continues to do this by introducing more and more products that incorporate recycled materials and improving the quality and breadth of our global certification and reporting standards.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expansion in sustainable tech accessories<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In addition to eco-friendly bags, Targus has been developing sustainable tech accessories. Starting in 2022, the company launched products like the award-winning ErgoFlip\u2122 EcoSmart\u2122 Mouse and the Sustainable Energy Harvesting EcoSmart Keyboard, which are made with up to 85% certified post-consumer plastic. Moreover, these products operate on ultra-low power Bluetooth and are packaged in recycled materials. The expansion continues with three new keyboard models, including a Sustainable Ergonomic EcoSmart Keyboard, available in both wireless and wired versions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enhanced sustainability performance and certification<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Targus’s efforts in sustainability have been recognized with improved scores from EcoVadis, a globally acknowledged certification platform that evaluates companies\u2019 sustainability practices. In the latest assessment, Targus achieved a bronze status, placing it in the 64th percentile\u2014a notable improvement from the 51st percentile in 2022. This put the company in the top 16% of companies globally in the computer wholesale and peripheral equipment industries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

EcoVadis rates companies based on their environmental impact, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement practices, highlighting Targus\u2019s advancements in these areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Global environmental engagement<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Further demonstrating its dedication to environmental sustainability, Targus’s global team participated in the Treekly challenge for the second consecutive year, converting collective team steps into forest restoration efforts. In 2024, the Targus team accumulated 12.8 million steps, resulting in the planting of 1,159 trees. These trees are projected to capture approximately 395.73 tons of CO2 by 2050\u2014equivalent to offsetting the emissions from 112,278 quarter-pound cheeseburgers. This reforestation effort aims to restore habitats and protect against coastal erosion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
